2024 Standard Deduction Married Both Over 65. For the tax year 2024, the standard deduction for married couples filing jointly will increase to $29,200, an increase of $1,500 over the tax year 2023. The additional standard deduction for age 65 is larger in the single filing status than the additional standard deduction per person for age 65 in married filing jointly.
